During his nearly two decades abroad, Nox established himself as one of Zimbabwe's most recognizable contemporary artists, releasing popular songs including "Ndinonyara," "My Melody," and "Stay With Me" featuring South African star DJ Tira. He also collaborated with artists such as Makhadzi, expanding his fan base across Southern Africa.
To commemorate his departure, Nox is preparing to release a new single titled "Bye Bye South Africa," produced by his longtime collaborator Mr Brown.
The artist says the song is not a criticism of South Africa but a heartfelt farewell inspired by gratitude and reflection after spending almost two decades building his life there.
Nox emphasized that his decision to return was not influenced by xenophobic tensions or recent developments affecting foreign nationals in South Africa. According to the musician, he began planning his relocation last year, long before the issue became a major public conversation.
He explained that frequent visits home allowed him to witness changes in Zimbabwe, encouraging him to return and build his future there. He also praised government initiatives aimed at promoting economic participation and youth empowerment, saying the timing felt right to come back permanently.
Beyond music, Nox is now focusing on business opportunities, revealing plans to invest in Zimbabwe's mining and agriculture sectors as part of his long-term vision.
He says he hopes to contribute to the country's economic development while creating financial stability beyond the entertainment industry.
His return reflects a growing trend of Zimbabwean creatives relocating home after years abroad. Several artists and content creators who built successful careers in South Africa have recently chosen to resettle in Zimbabwe, bringing with them valuable experience, industry connections and new business ambitions.
For Nox, the move marks the beginning of a new chapter focused on reinvention, investment and contributing to Zimbabwe's evolving creative and economic landscape.
His upcoming farewell single, "Bye Bye South Africa," symbolically closes his South African journey while celebrating a fresh start back home.
